BIKINI - B O R E D

I must say I am a little bored.  Fall is officially here, school is in and I am sitting at home with broken bits of time wondering what I can do to fill my time between picking up my sweet Sammy sunshine from first grade and working on fine tuning my collection.  So this morning I made a huge vat of macaroni and cheese.  From scratch, with a rue and all.  Its in the oven now getting bubbly and brown.
Can you smell it?

LOVE - I N T O X I C A T I N G

Drunk and giddy with the deep deep intoxicating smells of out of this world bliss. Gardenias, a warm summer breeze, jasmine at night and lavender by day.  A baby soft and sweet, sheets dried by the sunshine, suntan lotion after a day at the beach.  Your true love. Breathe in breath deep get intoxicated.

EAT - M E X I C A N

So I was going to write a piece on the weather changing and how it was time for soups and stews when all of a sudden BAM! It's friggin 97 degrees and all I can think about is ice cold cantaloupe and a tall cold glass of beer. Seriously I've been trying to prolong summer as much as possible that I think I had just resigned to the fact that Fall was here and went about my business picking out which boots and sweater dresses to wear. So today I've got the tank top, shorts and flip flops on and will be having this yummy Chicken Tostada for lunch.  Thank you Mother nature!

BIKINI - N E W Y E A R

I might have mentioned this before or maybe not - September is my January.  This is the time of year that I make my "New Year resolutions" and reflect on life.  Usually it has to do with getting organized, working out and re decorating the house.  And as of today I am in that mode.  As far as New Year goals it goes a little something like this.

2011-2012 Goals
1.  Start Fashion Design School (September 29th)!
2.  Get super fit and I mean FIT
3.  Sell some bikinis

So I started my day with a bowl of Kashi Go lean instead of the hubby's usual egg's fried in bacon fat, bacon and home fries, organized my cabinets and signed up for a PR seminar.  Ah, it's going to be a good year!

EAT - M A G I C B A R S

I am not sure why they are called Magic Bars, maybe because they "disappear" right before your eyes.  Yummy, incredible, wow, ohhhh so good is what you will be saying in between mouthfuls of these little pieces of heaven.  Usually I bust these out around Christmas but this year I couldn't wait.  As you all know I have a deep love for coconut and I've been craving these since last year.  Double or triple the recipe cause you won't be able to keep them in the house for long.

LOVE - P A R T Y

It's been a week since the debut of my Shy Girl Bikini & Beach Summer 2012 collection. I think I've just started to recover.  The stress of getting the collection done, throwing the party and the weather not cooperating just about put me over the edge.  When it was all said and done, I was very happy with how everything turned out.  My closest friends and family came to support me, have a drink and talk bikinis.  My darling niece even did a impromptu fashion show (thanks Kelli!).  All in all it was a great first party and I am totally stoked for the next party.

BIKINI - S E S S I O N

Dawn Patrol.  Dark o'thirty in the morning, tip toeing through the house like a quiet little mouse with the hopes that kid, hubby and animal will not wake up. Coffee brewed, gear packed, car ready to go.  Front door open and all is still quiet on the Andersen front.  Squeak squeak squeak - busted by the Guinea pig.  Quiet piggers! I whisper harshly and give him some lettuce as a bribe, good piggie.  The early morning air is crisp and smells delicious with a hint of warmth from the day to come.  Dew dropped covered spider webs and birds chirping softly from the redwood tree's above.  Ghost town, lights out, no cars - Mill Valley the best way, the only way.  Parking lot empty, breaking dawn, waves breaking.  Slip into the water, paddle out.  One with the waves one with nature.  Light breaking, sun up, body cold, shivering back to the car.  Heater on, bones warm, coffee hot.  View from the dash, deserted beach, gulls flying, waves crashing.  Back up, vier from the rear view mirror - sun glow, yellow, golden, warm.  Smile on face.  Stoked.

LOVE - S O U N D T R A C K

Hi, my name is Windsor and I am not afraid to admit that I like (love) AC/DC.  Call me old school call me a rocker chick just call me Windsor.  My summer soundtrack for 2011 was the classic 3rd album,  Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheep by AC/DC*.  Bluesy, raunchy, soulful is what Bon Scott and the boys are singing.  I pop this CD into the player put the top down, RayBan's on and cruise down highway 1 to the beach.  Singing at the top of my lungs (yes I am that girl) maneuvering the twist and turns of the roads, day dreaming about the day I'll be a millionaire. Ah it was a good summer.  What's your favorite summer soundtrack?

EAT - C U P C A K E S

Dainty and sweet, pretty and pink, sugar dusted, sprinkle ridden, creamy and smooth. Chocolate laden, heavy and rich, carmel cluster chocolate chip - that's what cupcakes are made of.

BIKINI - W H I T E S

"Fashion rules are made to be broken by those who can pull it off".  I like that.  Who says you can't wear white after Labor Day?  Well, to be honest many many old-money snobs who follow the rules in order to climb the social ladder.  But who set the rule and why?  I researched this all to popular subject and there seems to be some question about why it started.  Practicality, class, fashion editors oh my!  If it's such a hard core rule why is there "winter white"?  Let me lay it out for you.  A thin sleeveless cotton blouse tin the middle of January would just be silly - and cold.  But if it is a beautiful Chanel suit made by Coco her self in a beautiful winter white wool that would be amazing.  Do you need more examples? Biggest rain storm of the year with streets flooding and gutters overflowing with muddy rain water does not mean wear your white suede pumps to work.  Jetting off to the Hampton's in June for a little R & R equals a crisp cotton shift dress and sandals.  So you see where I am going with this?  Use a little common sense when breaking this classic rule but make sure you pull it off and Happy Labor Day

LOVE - A R T

Making scraps into art
I have been surrounded by art my entire life. My mom is an artist, grandfather a photographer, my brother can take a look at a piece of furniture and re create it within hours from sight and my dad paints in the dark, creating crazy works of art. I've been wandering the halls of museums since I could walk, loved Degas, Picasso and Matisse at a very early age. Can't  believe that I actually went to the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa and the Da vinci show to boot.  Weather it's stick figures, finger paint or oil on canvas art feeds your soul, blinds you with color and makes your heart skip a beat.

EAT - S O U P

Delicious is what Tortilla soup is. This soup is so "clean" and healthy that you probably could never eat enough.  The mellowness of the chicken stock mixed with the creamy - ness of the avocado, crunch of the tortilla strips topped off with cilantro is a perfect combination of awesomeness.  Warm your bones after surfing, fill your belly when you are starving, beat a hang over.  Got Chicken Tortilla Soup?

BIKINI - S E P T E M B E R

September is here - I say to myself "no frickin' way!"  Where did the time go?  I did have an amazing summer though.  Lot's of beach time, lots of family time and lots and lots of  R & R.  Got a tan, designed a collection, learned to make a really really mean Mojito and finally was able to read a book.  Ahhhh summer you were short but sweet and am thankful that Indian summer is just around the corner.
